For the first time in the history of Manila's well-known flower market (Dangwa), an amateur floral arrangement competition among the cut flower sellers in the area was held.The event was made possible with the joint efforts of Jasam and the Dos Castillas Flower Market Association.

Eighteen participants signed up for the competition with three of the best flower arranging experts judging the competition --- Richard Go, AIFD from Sydney, Australia, the Philippine's FloralArchitect Mr. Rachy Cuna and the grand dame of the industry and owner of Casa Flores de Belen, Mrs Belen Bactad.

The event was sponsored by Oasis® Floral Products, Design Masters sprays, King Louie, Waling of Davao, Agrikultura Pilipina, Philippine Cutflowers Corporation, Uni Green, Glen Remorca, Southern Blooms, Nene's Flower Shop and Ten-29 Floral Supplies.

The declared winners for the different competitions were:
